Correct, just the passport. Visa is not checked when traveling withing the US.

My concurrent filing of I-140 and 485 was filed on August 17th, 2007.
Is it not after July 30?...that you could submit to either to Nebraska or Texas?
Is it ok like this?

USCIS had issued a Direct Filing Update which stated that if the application was filed after July 30, it would have to be filed at the center which has jurisdiction over the state the applicant lives in, which in your case is Massachusetts.
USCIS has been transfering a lot of applications between the various service centers lately due to the July fiasco. Based on reports from the Ombudsman, USCIS is trying to avoid any unnecessary rejections, and take a more 'customer service' based approach, so hopefully you will be ok, and they'll just transfer the case to the appropriate service center.
I'm not a lawyer by any means, so please use this advice at your own discretion.

I got my approval y'day from TSC. This marks the end of GC journey. Been with same employer since Aug 1999 ( 9 Long years...........).

485 is a very simle procedure you can do your self. The best thing is download the latest I-485 form from USCIS website and spend some time in reading it. It clearly says what should be attached. Each lwyer says different things. Do not send too much. Do not send all the pages of paspoort. It will defenitly add weight.
Here is the list I sent long time back.
I-485 form
Attachements:
1. 140 approval notice
2. Offer letter.
3. Fee
These three are very important.
3. 4 biographic pages
4.Medical cover.
5. Latest I-94
6. All the approval notice to prove your non-immigrant stay (most cases H1B approval notices)
7. Bio-graphic and visa pages of old and new passport.
8. Birht certificate.
Dependent and Child.
All the 3 to 8.
1.I-134 (sponsership)
2. Bank statemnet (no tax or w2 forms, not needed)
3. Marrage certificate.

hey all i can't find where to post a new thread so hopefully I can hijack this quick.
I called the USCIS number for info but can't speak to an operator.
My wife is planning on traveling to hawaii in december. She will have her drivers license by then. She has her I-485, I-130, I-765 and some other M109109 (whatever that is).
she wants to know if its ok for her to travel to hawaii (from florida). it's in the united states so i can't imagine there being an issue. she will be traveling to ohio later that month and to me its the same thing. I'm just trying to get the opinion from someone who would know for sure.

My previous company hires them and I used to deal with Chugh firm a lot. They are very good and professional. I did not see any issues.

Hello - I just recd. the TRANSFER NOTICE for me & my wife's 485 case stating that the case has been transferred to USCIS-NBC, PO Box 648005, Lee's Summit, MO 64064. We had filed for AOS in July 2007 and my priority date for is April 2006 (EB-2).
I would appreciate it if somebody can please shed some light on what this means for us. What are the implications for us.? Will the case be transferred to the local office.? Should i start to gather documents for a interview.
Would appreciate any advice i can get. Thank you!

I am on same boat. Mine and my wife case also transfered from Texas to Orlando,FL.My PD is EB2 sep06 and we filed 485 July2nd'07.140 approved in March07.
We never worked in FL state.
My case is tranfered on 8th April'08 and a LUD today(9th April 08).

Though USCIS mistakenly has given you H1 approval till May 2011, you will be considered beyond the 6 yr limit and could be held accountable for unlawful presence. End of the day, its your responsibility to make sure you are on the safe side. I have seen a similar case sometime ago where USCIS issued an RFE and the beneficiary had to go through a lot of trouble to get things straightened out. If I were you, I would have your company file an extension considering Apr 2010 as H1 expiry by providing evidence of your first entry to the US on H1 and your current H1 approval notice and asking them for 3 yrs extension based on approved I-140.

that is not bad thinking that all the stories we heard about hundreds of people who were friends' friend and were deported at EWR.
